Varmio 494 Soapstone Wood Stove, 9 kW

The firebox in Varmio 494 is lined with cast iron plate, and every panel of it is a stock spare.

The body is soapstone & steel: soapstone stores heat for hours, so the room is still warm long after the last log has gone.

Secondary and tertiary air are pre-heated before they reach the fire, which is what burns the smoke instead of sending it up the flue. Nothing in it is glued: the parts that face the fire come out with a screwdriver.

Care

Sweep the flue once a season and check the door rope every autumn: a stove that has started smoking into the room is almost always a seal, not a chimney.
