Brandel 839 Corner Insert, Two-Sided

An insert is only as good as the air behind it: Brandel 839 takes a 125 mm duct for outside air, so the room is not competing with the fire.

The door runs on adjustable hinges with a compression latch. A door that no longer pulls up tight is the usual reason an insert starts smoking into the room.

The firebox is steel & vermiculite: vermiculite keeps the firebox hot enough to burn the smoke, which is where the efficiency comes from. Nothing in it is glued: the parts that face the fire come out with a screwdriver.

Care

Clean the glass cold with damp ash on newspaper — it is mildly abrasive and free. Have the flue swept once a season.
