Bornholm 483 Fire Table with Lid

The base of Bornholm 483 keeps the fire 120 mm off the ground, which is what saves a timber deck from scorch marks.

It is corten steel: it weathers to a stable rust skin that then protects the steel underneath — the colour is the point.

Nothing on it is painted where the flame touches — paint on the inside of a fire bowl is a decision you regret the first evening. Twenty seasons of use leave the paint tired long before the steel gives up.

Care

Tip the ash out after every use, or wet ash will eat the steel from the inside. Cover it if you can; nothing here minds rain otherwise.
