Blacksmith 271 Log Basket, Steel

Blacksmith 271 is a log basket, steel — about 25 kg of split logs.

Forged, not cast. A cast poker snaps the first time it is used as a lever, which is what every poker eventually becomes.

The finish is heat-resistant paint, and it will mark where the metal touches embers — that is the coating doing its job rather than failing. It is built to be re-lined rather than replaced.

Care

Wipe steel with a dry cloth after use; a light wipe of oil once a season keeps forged iron from spotting.
