Vitrum 500 Steel Hearth Plate, 1 000 × 800 mm
£255.00
Built for a show home where the fire is the first thing anyone looks at, Vitrum 500 is what stands between an ember and a floor you cannot repair.
A hearth plate is not insulation. It stops sparks and it spreads load; a stove that needs a heat-insulating base needs that stated separately.
Wipe it with a damp cloth. Glass cleaner on a warm plate leaves a haze that is very hard to get back off. The door hinge is adjustable, which is what keeps the seal tight in year eight.
