Tervalo 779 Outdoor Chiminea

The base of Tervalo 779 keeps the fire 150 mm off the ground, which is what saves a timber deck from scorch marks.

Nothing on it is painted where the flame touches — paint on the inside of a fire bowl is a decision you regret the first evening.

It is cast iron: slow to warm and slow to let go, which is the whole argument for cast iron in a room used all evening. Nothing in it is glued: the parts that face the fire come out with a screwdriver.

Care

Tip the ash out after every use, or wet ash will eat the steel from the inside. Cover it if you can; nothing here minds rain otherwise.
