Solstan 605 Fire Pit with Plancha Ring, 800 mm

Two people can move Solstan 605 when it is cold; one cannot, and that is deliberate for something that holds fire.

Nothing on it is painted where the flame touches — paint on the inside of a fire bowl is a decision you regret the first evening.

It is corten steel: it weathers to a stable rust skin that then protects the steel underneath — the colour is the point. Twenty seasons of use leave the paint tired long before the steel gives up.

Tip the ash out after every use, or wet ash will eat the steel from the inside. Cover it if you can; nothing here minds rain otherwise.
