Ondrek 373 Wood Stove, 7 kW

Built for a weekend house that has to come up to temperature in an hour, Ondrek 373 takes up to 40 cm logs, which is the length most sellers cut to.

The body is enamelled steel: vitreous enamel over steel wipes clean and does not chalk the way stove paint does.

Secondary and tertiary air are pre-heated before they reach the fire, which is what burns the smoke instead of sending it up the flue. The door hinge is adjustable, which is what keeps the seal tight in year eight.

Care

Sweep the flue once a season and check the door rope every autumn: a stove that has started smoking into the room is almost always a seal, not a chimney.
