Kalstrom 691 Pellet Stove, 9 kW

A pellet stove is a small automatic boiler with a window: Kalstrom 691 modulates between a third and full output and holds the set temperature rather than swinging around it.

The body is enamelled steel: vitreous enamel over steel wipes clean and does not chalk the way stove paint does.

Because combustion air is drawn through a sealed duct, the stove does not compete with an extractor fan or a tight new building for air. Twenty seasons of use leave the paint tired long before the steel gives up.

Care

Vacuum the burn pot weekly in the heating season and empty the ash pan. Have the flue and the heat exchanger cleaned once a year.
