Kalstrom 290 Silent Pellet Stove, 8 kW

A pellet stove is a small automatic boiler with a window: Kalstrom 290 modulates between a third and full output and holds the set temperature rather than swinging around it.

Because combustion air is drawn through a sealed duct, the stove does not compete with an extractor fan or a tight new building for air.

The body is steel & cast iron: a steel body heats quickly, the cast iron door and top hold that heat after the fire has burnt down. Nothing in it is glued: the parts that face the fire come out with a screwdriver.

Care

Vacuum the burn pot weekly in the heating season and empty the ash pan. Have the flue and the heat exchanger cleaned once a year.
