Brennholz 580 Kiln-Dried Hardwood, 20 kg Crate

Built for a cottage with a single flue and two rooms to warm, Brennholz 580 is the part of the fire you buy again rather than once.

Hardwood burns longer than softwood at the same weight, and leaves less soot. Softwood lights faster, which is what kindling is for.

Nothing here is treated, painted or glued — burning treated timber ruins a flue and a room's air in one evening. Cheap enough to keep a spare of, which is the point of a wear part.
